Booking an Appointment
By Phone: 01482 814121
When you contact the surgery our receptionists are usually your first point of contact and they have a lot of information available to them to help you with any enquiry. They will help you to arrange an appointment to see the doctor or nurse.The following appointments are offered:
- Routine appointments – we try to book patients into timely appointments and ask for your understanding and cooperation over busy periods;
- Urgent on the day appointments and telephone consultations are also available;
- GP appointments can now be booked on-line;
- Appointments can be booked for up to 4 weeks in advance;
Our surgeries run at various times during the day. Nurse appointments are available throughout the week and they also run some specific clinics for spirometry and flu vaccinations.Our aim is to book patients into appointments on a ‘one call basis’. When requesting an appointment you may therefore be asked questions about your symptoms to help us offer you a timely appointment to meet your needs.
If you have specific needs i.e. you are a carer or being cared for, a child or a person who can only get to the surgery early or late evening or a patient on our at risk of hospital admissions register, please make this known to the reception staff when you call; we will help you as much to fit you in to a timely appointment. Staff are trained to triage calls and all conversations are treated in the strictest of confidence and any messages taken will be passed to the Doctor or nurses directly. When visiting the surgery, should you be at risk of infection or your enquiry is of a sensitive nature, please tell the receptionist so we can offer you privacy away from the reception area. Please also respect the privacy of other patients by standing well back from the reception desk until your turn – thank you.
